Alot of times when I'm working on an illustration, I think of a couple ideas and settle on it. However this year, I have never been so pushed into furthering my ideas and images. It's a little fun and frustrating at first, but through that challenge comes the ability to adapt and learn.

This illustration was done for Rick Sealocks Visual Dialouge class. We had to take a type of food and illustrate a fun twist to it. The idea was for the image to be used on a placemat for Yupo.

It's funny when your watching a movie and your home alone. You see somethign funny and laugh and you want to make a joke to someone about it (that sounds so sad writing that haha!!) A great example of this is when I decided to watch Godzilla vs. Mothra for some random magical bored filled reason. Anyways the movie was terrible and hillarious, I thought i'd get my sketchbook out afterwards and just let my stream of rantingness flow onto the paper.

Not an art related post but I updated my portfolio on the righthand side so take a look!!!

And just to get everyone in a Christmas mood!!! (dont hate me :()

I find myself more and more having fun with drawing caricatures of people. So when I came across this article about Jerry Yang, I just haaaad to draw him. Jerry Yang is the ex-CEO of Yahoo! and he has come under alot of scrutiny during the late stages of his career.

So right now I'm doing my criminology essay on Nature vs Nurture. The whole premise is that we have to decide whether Nature or Nurture is a better determinant in predicting crime. In the class we got an excellent handout explaining both sides of the argument, and I thought it was a really interesting idea to illustrate.

Its always nice to have a life drawing session with a costumed model. I just find its easier to have fun and put your own spin in the drawing.

I read in a Wired article that John McCain has almost a 1/4 chance of dying in the next 4 years...I did this before the election so it's not as scary as it would have been!

Learning from the good things and bad things that I've been doing this year, has been a fun process. I feel that every piece I do gives me something to learn from as well as push myself further.
